Caden woke up from his nap as he heard the announcement over the intercom. He growled a bit to himself as he got up. “Great. Let’s see where they decided to put us all.” He said to himself. He Took what he had in his pockets, which was basically his harmonica and a mostly empty wallet and began to walk off the train. As he did, the guards kept an eye on him. ”Don’t look at me like I’m some freak. I can walk on my own.” He thought to himself. He walked along with the crowd until they all got off the train.

Caden got angry as he felt the immense heat. If there was one thing he disliked, it was heat. He looked around the area of where they were at, and couldn’t believe his eyes. ”The houses here are unlivable to be in. How do they expect us to live here?” He thought to himself. He took in all the details, from the weeds that were out of control, to the houses that were broken in just about every way. The only thing that he saw that wasn’t broken was a water tower. It was painted red, and looked like it was recently placed here. ”At least they cut us a little bit of mercy with fresh water, I hope.” He thought to himself.

He followed the crowd to where the podium was, which was also new. It still was covered in the grass and weeds, but it still looked like it didn’t belong here. He listened to the soldier at the podium speak up. As he spoke, Caden reflected on everything in his thoughts. ”Sergeant Clay? More like ruthless dictator who is probably the one who organized about all this.” “Wait, THIS is supposed to be our home!? Does he mean this run down, barely standing pile of rubbish village? I can tell he’s happy about this.” “Vacations aren’t meant to have work, you stupid, overdressed dunderhead.” “Yeah, and I bet you and your pathetic men will be living in the train while all of this is happening, or homes delivered here that actually work.” “Jobs? You mean that we’re going to become boring, structured, mechanic, and idiotic sheep like you? I’ll still find time to do what I want to do.” “No escape? I’m sure that if I tried hard enough, I can find a way to get out of here and go back home.” He thought to himself as the speech went on.

When it finished, he didn’t let the guards get near him as he walked down the village. He still wasn’t going to be treated like a freak. When they actually got into the village, he noticed just how empty this place is. Nothing here was electric, which meant no way to have heating, cooling, or effective lighting. When he was away from all the guards, he went into one of the standing houses. It had weeds all over, which also covered the beds inside. In here, he shook his head. “This is starting to look like slavery. Pulling us away from home so we will be stuck here until we either die or do what the tacky soldiers want us to do.” He said. He then sat down on one of the beds, feeling the weeds touch his fur. “I just wish that SOMEONE out there comes to recue us all, before we all go insane here.” He said quietly, before he got up and began to clear this house of weeds, using tools nearby.
Here is my submission for the first assignment for :iconhighholt:

I know that this probably isn't a lot, but I hope that you all enjoy it, seeing as how it goes into how Caden sees all of this. It also shows how vocal he is, at least in his head.
